Elizabeth Larsen Joins Destination: College!

Destination: College and the Board of Directors are thrilled to announce our new Executive Director, Elizabeth Roe Larsen.

With a Masters in Special Education from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Boston College, Elizabeth comes to Destination: College following a distinguished career as an educator and instructional leader.

Since 2022, Elizabeth has served as a consultant with the Lavinia Group in New York, where she partners with administrators and teachers at schools in historically under-served communities across New York City. In this role, she advances opportunities for students through data-driven coaching, instructional leadership, and systems implementation. 

Previously, Elizabeth served for two years as an Assistant Principal at Success Academy Charter School in Brooklyn, where she managed, trained, and supported a team of 20 math and science teachers. Her leadership contributed to strong qualitative and quantitative student outcomes within an equity driven classroom environment. She also brings classroom teaching experience from Success Academy in Harlem and KIPP Charter School in Chicago, Illinois. 

Elizabeth is known for her warm, approachable leadership style and ability to build trust with students, educators, and families alike. She brings a meaningful prior connection to the organization, having previously served as a literacy consultant—training our volunteers in the science of reading and strengthening instructional practice. 

Following one such session, a volunteer remarked, “Congratulations on your amazing new hire.” We are thrilled that this early impression has now become a reality and we look forward to a productive and lasting partnership with Elizabeth.
